The band, formed in 1980 after the breakup of The Bodysnatchers, quickly rose to prominence, becoming known for their hit singles like "Sign of the Times" and their cover of "Iko Iko". Their first performance was on Christmas Day in 1980, and by early 1981, they were already gaining significant media attention, appearing on the cover of Sounds magazine.
